Entries must be postmarked by October 15, 2013. Entries will be judged on clarity, content, composition and appeal. The winning photos will be highlighted in the February 2014 CBA Newsletter and posted online. Prizes will be up to 5 free registrations for the upcoming year.

Four categories:

1. Sheep & wool related activities – Photographs of activities such as shearing, moving/trailing sheep, lambing, showing, feeding, etc.
2. Scenic landscapes – Photographs of sheep outdoors
3. Portraits of sheep and/or lambs
4. Cotswold wool – People working with wool or items made from Cotswold wool

Other Contest Rules:

1. CBA can use or reproduce all entries at the discretion of CBA. In addition, entries will not be returned.
2. Pictures taken with digital cameras can be submitted via hard copy or electronically.
3. All entries must be at least 3″x5″ color or black & white high-resolution pictures.
4. Photo previously submitted to CBA for a photo contest cannot be re-entered.

Please include the following information with each photo submitted: Title of photo, Category, photographer’s name, email or address. Please email your entries to: CBAsheep@aol.com

Ads can be posted for free by CBA members. You must register with the website before posting your first ad. To get started, go to the Classifieds page and click the Place Ad link. Next you will be asked to log in to the website. If you have not already registered with the CBA website, click the Register link in the lower left corner of the Login form. On the Register page enter the Username you want to use for the site along with your email address, complete the Captcha form, and click the Register button. Your account will be created and your initial password will be emailed to you after the site admin approves your account. After you receive your password, go back to the Place Ad page and log in to the site. Now you will see the Place Ad form where you can provide the details for your new ad. After completing the first page of the form you will be asked to upload a picture for your ad (this is optional.) After submitting your ad it must be approved by the site admin before becoming visible on the website. Note you will need to provide the “ad access key” (sent to you after your ad is submitted) and your email address if you want to edit your ad (us the Edit Ad link on the Classifieds page.) If you have questions or problems with this process please contact the webmaster using the Contact form.

The 2013 CBA National Show will be held during the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar, CA. The show will be Sunday, June 9th. The time and judge have not yet been confirmed. All sheep must be on the fairgrounds by Friday, June 7th. Release of national show sheep is Sunday night. Exhibitors will be allowed to participate in San Diego County Fair’s open sheep week. This show runs from Tuesday, June 11 to Sunday, June 16. The show schedule for open sheep week has not been set, however, white and colored Cotswolds will most likely show the 12th or 13th. Those people traveling from out-of-state will be allowed to leave early if they do not wish to stay for the Supreme Champion Selection on Saturday, June 15. The entry fee for the National Show will be $10 per head and per group, open sheep week entries will also be $10 per head and per group. Premiums start at $50 for first place and usually drop by $5 increments, the exact premium schedule has not determined. Entries for San Diego County Fair must be completed online. If you want to enter the national show and open sheep week you will be required to enter your animals twice. More information will be posted on the CBA website as it is finalized with fair management.

Make entries online at the NAILE website or just put in NAILE and they have a live feed of the show on their website. There are no added entry fees that go to CBA as there are with other Associations. Our show is a completely sponsored show of which CBA is one of the sponsors. ( If you have someone or you would like to be a sponsor we could use the money)

If you want to enter and don’t have transportation contact breeders of other breeds and I’m sure you can secure transportation for a nominal fee.

CBA National Meeting will be the evening of November 15, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. Come by the Bearhill Farms Pens and we will have the location posted.
